I'm an old-timer and Kokernot was a male dorm when I was there. I lived off-campus my freshman year (Dr. White gave me permission) but I moved in Kokernot my soph year (1961) and my junior year I became 2nd south wing director. I was wing director for 3 years (again Dr White permission). I really liked Kokernot. The basement was the tv lounge area, in addition to ping pong tables, laundry machines, etc. I worked the dorm switchboard for 4 years and usually did my math assignments (one of my majors) then. I haven't been back to the Baylor campus for almost 40 years and I understand I wouldn't recognize the campus now. But Kokernot was my "home" for 4 years.

I was in Kokernot 1961-1965; one year as a resident (61-62) and 3 years (62-65) as a wing director. I really enjoyed my time living in Kokernot. Although it is a female dorm now, it was one of the best male dorms back then. We were across the creek from the academic buildings, but it wasn't a big deal. Minglewood bowl was right next to us, so we could be out at 2am playing tag football, etc. I realize that the girls probably have "lockdown" hours but we had the freedom to be out all hours then. Most of my best memories of BU were based on friendships with the other guys at Kokernot.
