  Mertz is situated very close to Parrish and other academic buildings, giving it a great location, fairly close to everything with expansive green spaces around the community. Boasting a grand staircase upon entering the building, large family room space with a kitchen, and a computer area with printer, Mertz feels more like a home than a residence hall. Mertz houses about 140 students from all four classes, promoting a sense of community within the residence hall. Mertz has three floors, each featuring a lounge and kitchenette area. Rooms are very spacious and all rooms include a large closet. Rooms in Mertz are a mix of doubles and singles, are mostly carpeted, and feature painted cinder block walls and shades on the windows.
