About WMU Residence Hall
Opened in 1928 with funding from the Woman’s Missionary Union of the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, WMU is one of OBU’s most historic residence halls. Over the years it has housed everything from a swimming pool to the University Art Department and even soldiers during past eras. Today, WMU is reserved for first‑year women and offers private and double rooms. Each room includes a wardrobe, dresser, desk and chair, sink, twin bed with adjustable lofting, closet, carpet, heating and air conditioning, and plenty of outlets. Residents enjoy large lounges on every floor, building‑wide Wi‑Fi, a first‑floor central laundry, and outdoor bike storage. Average community size is about 25 women per hall. Personal loft beds are not permitted. Renovations were completed in 1980.
