Western Heights
Western Heights complex is a first-year living complex in the Hall-Archer-Pickard neighborhood at WMU. The hall features environmentally conscious living concepts, green space and public areas. Each living area in this dorm is arranged into single-gender houses. In each house, 30-35 share common kitchens, study areas, and private bathrooms maintained by residence-hall staff. Community spaces on four levels feature laundry and study areas, an open-air terrace, plus entertainment and game rooms. Western Heights features double occupancy rooms, with each room including: two beds and mattresses (can be lofted or bunked), two desks with desk chairs, two single drawer stacks (26”Wx22”Dx14”H), and a single trash and recycling bin. Standard room dimensions are: 11 feet 1 inch wide, 17 feet 4 inches long; however exact room sizes vary. Closets average 3 feet 6 inches wide by 2 feet 2 inches deep. Students living in Western Heights are required to be on a meal plan. Some highlights of this residence hall are it's proximity to a parking area, air conditioning, secured access, multiple shared kitchen areas on each floor, open air terraces and semi-private bathrooms.
