Our Mission The mission of The Art Institute of York — Pennsylvania is to provide a quality, collaborative academic environment for individuals seeking creative careers through higher education. Baccalaureate and associate’s degrees are competency based, incorporating traditional liberal arts with hands-on instruction. Faculty use learning-centered methodologies that prepare students for entry-level careers in the design, media arts, and fashion fields. • It is our objective to employ, develop and maintain faculty with appropriate educational credentials and related industry experience who deliver learner-centered instruction consistent with the curricular requirements and who are dedicated to student success and academic quality. • It is our objective to create and maintain an educational environment that is conducive to general learning by providing adequate facilities, learning resources, computer laboratories, industry-related and program-specific environments. • It is our objective to ensure market-driven, competency- based education and curricula through ongoing communication with employers, advisory committees, graduates, and students. • It is our objective to enhance institutional effectiveness by consistently assessing and improving student retention, employment assistance, learning outcomes, and graduate and employer satisfaction.
